About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Bordeaux at 14 Rue Ravez, Vesper Café is a charming culinary gem inviting brunch lovers and casual diners alike to experience a thoughtfully curated menu brimming with fresh, vibrant flavors. This quaint café masterfully blends French flair with contemporary brunch favorites, creating an inviting atmosphere that feels both relaxed and refined.

Vesper Café’s cuisine showcases a delightful range of dishes that perfectly balance indulgence and wholesome goodness. Among the standout offerings, the Waffle with Red Fruits captivates with its light, airy batter topped generously with bright, tangy berries that burst with freshness. For a savory twist, the Waffle Saumon Avocat Et Pain Perdu Caramel Beurre Salé combines silky smoked salmon and creamy avocado alongside the decadent caramel-butter French toast, creating a symphony of rich, contrasting textures. Another must-try is the Burger Truffé avec Galette de Pomme de Terre, a gourmet twist replacing chicken with crispy potato galette, enveloped in earthy truffle notes that elevate this dish beyond the ordinary.

The café’s menu also features a variety of comforting classics with a signature Vesper touch: from the creamy Burrata Di Bufala paired with Pain Perdu Brioché to the vibrant Avocat Toasts and hearty Gaufre Œuf Et Poulet Tenders. Whether you're craving the fresh zing of a smoothie made of red fruits and mango or the creamy warmth of a cappuccino, every bite and sip is crafted to delight the senses.

The atmosphere at Vesper Café mirrors its culinary ethos—minimalist yet welcoming, with a clean design that allows the food and conviviality to take center stage. Guests often praise the friendly, attentive service, which adds a personalized warmth to the experience. The outdoor seating area offers a charming spot to enjoy Bordeaux’s gentle breeze, making it perfect for long, leisurely brunches. While the café embraces classic coffee options with strong, aromatic brews, some visitors have noted the potential for broader non-dairy milk selections to cater to diverse preferences.

Feedback from patrons consistently highlights the combination of generous portions, aesthetic presentation, and value. For example, the avocado toast emerges repeatedly as a crowd favorite, loved for its perfectly balanced flavors at a reasonable price point—a refreshing break from the city's often pricier brunch spots. Reviewers describe the waffles as light and sizeable, the food tasteful, and the overall vibe as vibrant yet relaxed, making Vesper Café a spot that feels like a well-kept local secret.

In all, Vesper Café stands out as a must-visit destination in Bordeaux for those seeking a wholesome, beautifully presented brunch or lunch in a pleasant ambiance. Its thoughtful menu crafted with fresh ingredients, friendly service, and inviting setting combine to create an experience that lingers fondly in your memory long after the last bite.

Had a nice brunch here! The avocado toast was good. The decor was fun and it was nice to sit outside. The coffee was good, but I wish they had a non-dairy milk option.

Pro: - extremely friendly service, I felt very welcome - food presentation is outstanding - not overly expensive compared to some other more popular places (10 eur for avocado toast while others charge 14, 4 eur for cappuccino) - food had a good taste - but there were some details that could be changed for exceptional quality (see below) - Ambiente is nice, more clean / minimal with a little industrial touch, possible to sit outside Con: - I ordered the avocado toast with a fried egg -it was presented very beautiful tasted nice. My recommendation would be to re-consider the bread. It was cut too thin, and didn’t taste special - abit dull - not like a good sourdough. It could be toasted a bit longer for improved flavor. Also they could consider offering poached eggs (not only sunny-side up eggs) - there was no availability for oat milk, which is pretty standard nowadays, only regular milk.
